of standardization and to make come into wide use of free space optical
communication system which is expected as a new way of wireless broadband
communication.

”Purpose of Working Group
Infrared LAN WG
- Development, Standardization and Promotion of Infrared LAN
- WG is now studying the standard specification of 100Mbps Infrared LAN system
compatible with 100BASE-T standard.
Infrared-based CPE WG
- Development, Standardization and Promotion of Infrared Interconnection between CPE
- WG is now studying the standard specification of 100Mbps / 200Mbps Infrared-based
CPE in home based on IEEE1394b.
Infrared Beam Communication WG
- Development, Standardization and Promotion of Outdoor Infrared Communication Systems
- WG is now studying the application technology for the ubiquitous network.
(anytime, anywhere internet-connectable environment)
Publicity WG
- Maintenance of Homepage and various Publicity Action
- WG is now operating the periodic renewal of homepage and planning the lecture
meeting and the exhibition for the promotion of Infrared Communication
System.
